Technical Content Specialist

Location: Austin, TX or Remote

Currently, pfSense® Plus and TNSR® solutions connect and protect homes, businesses in every vertical, K-12 and university educational institutions, local, state, federal government agencies and service providers all over the world.

We also contribute our resources to numerous open-source software projects, like Clixon, Data Plane Developer Kit (DPDK), the Fast Data Project (FD.io) and its flagship technology Vector Packet Processing (VPP), FreeBSD, Free Range Routing, Linux, pfSense, and strongSwan.

As our technical content specialist, you will have the opportunity to create high-quality, meaningful work that not only shines light on Netgate’s products and brand stories but also starts conversations about current events and technology trends that matter.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write, edit, and publish technical web pages, whitepapers, case studies, documentation, blog posts, emails, ads, video scripts, and more.
  • Brainstorm ideas and develop new content in collaboration with teammates both in and outside the marketing team.
  • Achieve and maintain knowledge of Netgate products and development.
  • Stay on top of product releases and current events and trends to start and contribute to relevant conversations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in technical content creation with a robust portfolio.
  • Prolific writer and versatile creator with the ability to develop engaging content from a blank page.
  • Ability and initiative to learn new tools and technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, with an eye for improving existing work.
  • Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, etc.) or equivalent experience working in a technical writing position.
  • Location: Austin, Texas, or ability to work remotely in sync with the USA central time zone.
