TNSR Software Release 22.06 is Here!

Our latest version of TNSR® software, Release 22.06, is now available.

If you are new to the product, TNSR is a vRouter solution focused on high-performance edge routing, cloud connectivity, and robust IPsec site-to-site VPN needs for businesses and service providers. The product's value proposition is simple: astounding router throughput that enables efficient packet processing regardless of packet size or chosen encryption transform - at unbeatable price points. TNSR software achieves this by integrating Vector Packet Processing (VPP), Free Range Routing (FRR) - and a number of other open-source projects along with Netgate-designed control and management planes - into a production-ready, secure networking solution. This relieves organizations from having to invest in the expertise, time, and expense required to extend open-source project software into production-ready, professionally-supported commercial solutions.

As referenced in a previous blog and previous release announcement, we moved the underlying OS base from CentOS to Ubuntu - driven by Red Hat's shift from CentOS Linux to CentOS Stream. Release 22.06 is the second TNSR software release to run over an Ubuntu Long Term Support (LTS) release, specifically Ubuntu Server 20.04.4. New TNSR software installations will only be supported on Ubuntu. Installations of TNSR software version 22.02, already on Ubuntu, may upgrade in place to version 22.06.

The 22.06 release adds IPFIX flow reporting, initial support for WireGuard VPN tunnels, improved route display, the ability to selectively enable and disable IPsec tunnels, along with numerous bug fixes and other improvements.

TNSR software is available as a bare metal image for non-Netgate appliances and virtual machines, as software instances on Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud service provider marketplaces, and on Netgate 1537 and 1541 turnkey appliances.
