Accountant II / Staff Accountant

We’re looking for a qualified person to join our Netgate Finance team as an Accountant II or Staff Accountant equivalent.  Our Finance team is a flexible, dynamic, and dedicated group of professionals locally based at our Austin, TX headquarters. This role requires methodical, analytical, organizational, and administrative skill coupled with efficiency, ability to perform to Best Practices, and tolerance of volatile workload.  This position maintains accurate financial records and reporting to meet customer expectations and company goals.  We hire for team fit as much as we do for applicable knowledge.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • What You Will Do (as part of a team):
    • Sales tax filings, research, and reconciliation
    • Monthly trial balance and financial statement review
    • Maintain fixed assets
    • Develop and maintain AWS, Azure and Amazon Marketplace dashboard reporting
    • Manufacturing and financial analytics
    • Management dashboards
    • Developing sustainable interim processes for reporting financial metrics during an ERP 
      implementation
    • Cross train for 1C and Shopify admin tasks
    • A/P, A/R, G/L activities and reporting
    • Amazon queue 

    Minimum Requirements

    • Strong understanding of financial statement composition and review
    • Experience with financial dashboards
    • 3-5 years accounting experience
    • Knowledge of general accounting practices and functions
    • Knowledge of general accounting reporting
    • Advanced working ability in Excel/Google Sheets, Word and PowerPoint
    • Ability to focus and meet deadlines
    • Establish and maintain reliable internet connectivity in a quiet home-office environment (if 
      necessary for work from home)
    • Demonstrated professionalism – the ability to be empathetic, accurate, responsive, resourceful, 
      patient, tolerant and conscientious
    • Demonstrated drive to perform accurately, efficiently and on target
    • Demonstrated ability to work well in team environment
    • Ability to work effectively and responsibly while unsupervised with a superior work ethic
    • Possess superior organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Possess superior customer service and interpersonal skills

    Additional Desired Skills

    • Manufacturing or cost accounting experience
    • Experience with 1C Enterprise software
    • Experience with Shopify Plus eCommerce platform
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
