Shipping and Logistics Lead

The Shipping and Logistics Lead is a critical role within Build Operations here at Netgate. This role requires technical, organizational, and administrative skill coupled with efficiency, ability to build to Best Practices and tolerance of volatile workload. The Shipping and Logistics Lead is responsible for all shipping output and product delivery by Netgate to meet customer expectations and company goals.  

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurate and timely shipping of domestic and international shipments
  • Process definition to improve accuracy, efficiency and productivity of the logistics role
  • Developing scalable processes with management for Austin and subsequent auxiliary offices
  • Understanding International Shipping requirements including export documentation,
    Harmonized Tariff Codes, ECCN, denied parties screening, NAFTA, etc.
  • Developing, maintaining and enforcing accurate packing processes including cross check to
    ensure customer orders are shipped correctly and arrive undamaged
  • Prioritizing and processing a large volume of orders quickly to meet daily shipping deadlines
  • Monitoring assistant shippers to ensure accuracy and adherence to packing/shipping processes
  • Maintaining the misshipments log and tracking metrics
  • Processing all incoming dock receiving and distribution including inventory, RMA, department
    orders and personal packages
  • Organizing, monitoring and maintaining the Build Room “supermarket” inventory in
    coordination with Inventory Control
  • Producing Daily Build Room report in coordination with Inventory Control to reflect shipments,
    units produced and current/rolling/back order volumes as well as SLA times
  • Mastering current and future shipping software (Shipstation, 1C, Shopify, UPS, FedEx, etc)
  • Assisting Inventory Control with cycle counts and inventory put up
  • Coordinating shipping of RTV (return to vendor) stock with Inventory Control
  • Assisting Facilities with task-oriented jobs as required (changing air conditioning filters, moving
    office equipment/furniture, machine maintenance, etc)
  • Maintaining an organized, clean, and safe working environment

 

BACKUP ROLES

  • Denied parties screening
  • Daily build room report
  • Cycle count assist
  • Inventory management 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated ability in a shipping/receiving role including international shipping experience
  • Demonstrated professionalism – the ability to be empathetic, accurate, responsive, resourceful, patient, tolerant and conscientious are required
  • Past work experience in a manufacturing/eCommerce environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in team environment
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to operate a computer workstation and standard office equipment
  • Possess superior organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Possess superior customer service and interpersonal skills including interaction with difficult personalities
  • Familiarity with presentation software such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint (Google equivalents)
  • Ability to stand, walk and bend over, reach overhead, grasp, push and move, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds at waist height
  • High school diploma/GED 

 

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS

  • Proven experience with standard shipping carriers (UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, etc) in an international arena
  • Knowledge and proven experience in international shipping regulations, export restrictions and customs/VAT/tax documentation
  • Knowledge of technical build, manufacturing processes, repair practices, and general troubleshooting techniques for electronic equipment.
  • Superior Excel or Numbers experience including dashboard and metrics reporting
  • International shipping experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and improve processes
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
